These are plain-English terms for using BillHours. They are not legal advice, and they are not a substitute for advice about your own tax, VAT, or contracts.

The service

BillHours lets you log time and turn it into numbered invoices (PDF, print-ready HTML, and CSV). It is a small tool for UK freelancers. It is not accounting software, bookkeeping, tax advice, or legal advice. You remain responsible for the accuracy of your invoices and for HMRC, VAT, and Self Assessment.

Who you are contracting with

The service is offered by Robert Docherty (sole trader), United Kingdom. Contact: robertdocherty86@gmail.com.

Accounts

You need an account to use the app. Keep your password to yourself. You must give an email address you can be reached on. You must not use BillHours to break the law.

Free and paid plans

The free plan is limited (currently 1 client and 5 invoices). Paid plans are £29/year or £4.99/month (UK prices include VAT), billed as a subscription. Prices are shown in the app before you pay. Stripe takes the payment and acts as merchant of record. Stripe’s checkout is the contract for the charge.

You can cancel a subscription through Stripe (the receipt emails Stripe sends). When a subscription ends, the account returns to the free plan. Your data stays, but free-plan limits apply again.

What we don’t promise

BillHours is provided as-is. We aim to keep it available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and we are not liable for lost profit, lost invoices, or tax consequences of what you send your clients. Nothing in these terms limits liability that UK law does not allow us to limit.

Changes

We may update the product or these terms. The current terms are always the page at /terms. If you keep using BillHours after a change, you are using it on the updated terms.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
